The Center for the Holographic Arts was established under
the directorship of Ana Nicholson and the late Dan Schweitzer, two well known holographic
artists, to promote the development and dissemination of the art of Holography.
To this end, the Center offers Artist In Residencies, holography classes, exhibitions of holographic work and seminars.
The Artist in Residence program is at the heart of the Center's
activities. A number of artists each year are selected by a jury of
art professionals based on submitted proposals. Holographic and non-holographic
artists are invited to apply. The Center is equipped with a pulse laser camera and a vibration isolation table with a Helium-Neon laser. Under the guidance of the staff,
residence will be encouraged to explore the medium as part of their artistic
vocabulary.
The Center also facilitates research projects and works with professional artists to produce holograms for exhibitions.
Located at 45-10 Court Square, Long Island City, NY 11101 the Center for the Holographic Arts is a not for profit organization funded in part by the International Holography Fund.
